The Practice

A small practice.
Two doors.

Most agencies grow by adding accounts. Sonder grows by finishing them. A short bench, a small number of clients at a time, and a rule that every price on the page is the price.

This page is written for the operator who has been through the last agency — the $8,000 build, the $2,000-a-month retainer, the line item every time they asked a question, the site that went dark after launch. It is written to tell you exactly what happens on this one before you decide.

01/ 03Two doors

Ship earns the rent. Advisory earns the trust.

Sonder has two ways in. Ship is the productized door — websites, systems, and audits at flat rates, delivered on schedule, ready to own. Advisory is the retainer door — a short bench for clients we've already shipped for and a handful of principals who arrived by referral. Most people come through Ship. A few end up walking through both.

Door 01 · Productized

Ship. Flat rate.

Websites, marketing systems, and visibility audits

A site built to be found — by humans, by Google, by AI models. A system underneath so leads don't leak. An honest read on how your business shows up online. Every engagement quoted once, scoped once, delivered on the timeline it was sold on.

  • Website builds — Starter, Growth, Signature
  • Marketing systems — CRM, automations, lead routing
  • Visibility audits — written brief, prioritized fixes
  • Care Plan — optional post-launch stewardship

Door 02 · Retainer

Advisory. Short bench.

Standing counsel for shipped clients and a handful of principals

Once the site ships and the system runs, most vendors disappear. That is the moment most clients wish they hadn't. Advisory is what stays — strategic connections, market research, and the person who built the thing still in the room when the next decision has to be made.

  • Strategic connections — the right person to call, curated over years
  • Warm introductions — vetted, contextual, followed through
  • Market research — primary work, written as a brief you can act on
  • Standing counsel — on retainer, by the quarter, or by the hour

How the practice actually works.

Most agency websites tell you what they do. Almost none tell you how. Here is how this one runs — the parts most operators wish they had known before their last engagement.

On price

One flat rate per engagement. The number on the pricing page is the number on the invoice. No discovery-call quote inflation, no line item when you ask a question, no monthly retainer bolted to a fixed-scope build.

If a build takes longer than planned, that is on Sonder — not another change order.

On scope

Fixed at the start. Written down. Delivered on the timeline it was sold on. Two rounds of revisions on Growth and Signature builds; unlimited small edits during the build window.

If your project honestly doesn't fit a package, we quote it once as a flat number — still no line items, still no retainer attached.

On ownership

The site is delivered ready to own on your stack. Every account — Netlify, domain registrar, analytics, search consoles, CRM — is created in your name and handed over at launch with a written document.

Cancel Care Plan anytime and the site keeps working. You just move hosting to your own account. No proprietary CMS. Nothing held hostage. That is the point.

On capacity

Small bench, small number of clients. The capacity indicator on the pricing page shows real open slots — not a marketing prop. When it says zero, there's a waitlist and a date.

Advisory retainers are capped separately and only open to clients Sonder has already shipped for or principals introduced by name.

On fit

If it isn't the right fit, we say so early and point you somewhere better. That has cost Sonder work. It has also produced the referrals that keep the bench full.

03/ 03Principles

What the practice holds itself to.

Five commitments the practice runs on. If any of them breaks, the client gets to name the remedy.

Principle 01

The site is yours.

Not licensed, not rented, not encumbered by a proprietary tool. Delivered on your Netlify account, your domain, your analytics, your CRM. The handoff document lists every login. If Sonder disappeared tomorrow, the site would keep working and you would know how.

Principle 02

The price is the price.

Every number on the pricing page is what appears on the invoice. No custom-quote gauntlet, no scope creep priced by the hour, no monthly retainer stapled to a fixed-scope build. If a project doesn't fit a package, it gets one flat number — still nothing itemized.

Principle 03

The scope is written down.

Fixed at the start, delivered on the timeline it was sold on. Two rounds of revisions on Growth and Signature. Change requests outside scope get a flat quote in writing before any work happens — never a surprise on the next invoice.

Principle 04

The bench is short.

Three builds at a time. Advisory retainers capped in the single digits. Care Plan capped at twenty clients. Capacity is a real constraint, not a scarcity tactic — and it is why the person you meet on the first call is the person still on the last one.

Principle 05

The truth is told early.

If it isn't the right fit, we say so on the intake read — not after the deposit clears. That answer is worth more than a poorly-fit engagement to both sides. Sonder keeps a short list of practitioners we refer to when the answer is no.

Read before you fill out intake

What the practice is not for.

Sonder is not a low-cost template shop — there are faster and cheaper places to buy a Squarespace site. Sonder is not a monthly-retainer agency running fifty accounts with a shared account manager and a ticket portal. Advisory is not a cold-outreach service, a rolodex rented by the month, or publicity for the sake of publicity. If any of those is what the moment requires, we will say so early and point you somewhere better.

If any of that sounds like the room you want in.

Pick a package on the pricing page, or fill out intake and tell us what your site is doing well and what it isn't. We'll come back within one business day with a fit read, a flat number, or a referral.
